The beginning of the plot

If your level is 30 and above, after installing the mod, the journal is automatically updated and the quest "In Their Footsteps" appears. You will find a looted caravan and then go to Ravenskorn Tower. Having dealt with the necromancers there, look for the diaries of Antiochus (the first part is upstairs, the second is in the basement of the tower). Read them carefully and get three new quests.

Obviously, if you want to go down the "bad path", you must get all the things that Antiochus wrote about. If you want to become a lich, it is inappropriate to ask yourself if you should spare the priest Arkay. Act as the necromancer ordered: take the heart of the priest (kill him), the shroud of the archmage (no need to dig in the grave), brew the elixir (no need to overturn the cauldron). When you kill all the necromancers in the third location, you will be asked to search the body of one of the fallen. Do this even if you have already searched all the corpses - you will find directions where to look for Antiochus.

A separate issue is the brewing and selection of the elixir. On the table by the cauldron, you will find a note that contains the ingredients for the elixirs in a slightly veiled way. You can only weld one of them. For Namira's Corrosion, add Namira's rot, skull, and poison bell to the cauldron; for Embalming Essence, a human heart, bloody root, and nightshade. Almost all the ingredients are on site. When you put the right ingredients in the cauldron and check that there is nothing superfluous, take an empty vessel from the table and fill it (activate). The appearance of the future lich depends on the chosen elixir. In the first case - a skeleton, in the second - a draugr.

Prepare for a long journey and fights, use the movement marker and find yourself somewhere in the Dragontail Mountains. There are no markers here, just go along the snowy road and eventually you will see a building resembling a fortress. you there. Be aware that the undead will rise from nearby graves, get ready for battle.

If the inventory allows, take with you a couple of dozen unnecessary items from among those that do not usually roll around the dungeons, an onion or a carrot will do, for example. Then it becomes clear why they may be needed.

Enter the Mound of Disasters, in the first dead-end room opposite the entrance you will find a lever, it will open the way down, jump, but know that you have a really huge dungeon in front of you.

Having reached the hall from where four tunnels lead, choose the passage in the wall opposite the entrance, so you will save time (if you want to penetrate the magic barrier, take your time and read the paragraph below), and turn right at the fork. If you see a door closed with a magical barrier and necromancers trying to remove it, then you have gone the right way, this path will lead to Antiochus. After killing the leader of the necromancers, you will read the third part of his diary and find out that the deceased did not succeed in his search for secret knowledge. The quest, it would seem, is over, and you can go home.

Antiochus thought that the secret of immortality was hidden in the tomb behind the barrier. You can check and see if he was wrong. To remove the barrier, you will need two skulls decorated with stones. In a room with four passages, go to the left corridor closest to the entrance, kill the necromancer there and pull the chain, a panel will open, and you will get the first skull. For the second skull, go to the corridor opposite the entrance to the hall, and at the fork turn left (Antioch - right) and go to the end, kill the necromancer again and pull the chain. Place both skulls in their sockets and the barrier will disappear. There is nothing interesting in the tomb, except for an aggressive "non-quest" lich and a "Mass Revive" spell tome.

So, Antiochus is killed, what to do next? It makes no sense to go back, continue your hike through the dungeon. Soon you will see a strange-looking bowl and next to it the book "Arkay is our enemy", and on the opposite side of the hall - a passage closed with bars. A hint will be given by the magician who attacked you - there is a note on his carcass. Put the heart of the priest Arkay in the bowl, another passage will open nearby, pull the chain there - and the grate will open. Go there. A small corridor - and in front of you is the Black Book. Yes, there is a journey through Apocrypha, and a long one at that...

During the journey, you will find four books: Blessed Bone, Binding Blood, Bound Soul, Melting Flesh. Two books are easy to find, the path to them is relatively linear, but getting the remaining two is really not easy. Once in the next zone, you will see a lot of standard "apocryphal" books-portals. All portals look the same and only two of them will lead to the remaining two of the four books. This is where you evaluate your carrots. Before entering the portal, leave a carrot in front of it, so at least you don't have to go to the same place twice. Having obtained the two remaining books, go to the hall lit with colored lights, which you have probably already seen. Arrange the obtained books on pedestals according to their names: "Bound Soul" - in the purple zone, "Bedding Blood" - in the red zone, "Blessed Bone" - in the white zone, "Melting Flesh" - in the yellow zone. A passage will open in the center of the hall.

If you think that right now you will come to the second Black Book, which will allow you to gain knowledge and return to Tamriel, then you are mistaken. The new area has a pleasant variety: as soon as you go along the corridor in the right direction, it collapses and the path is closed. However, do not be upset, just go where you can - usually in the opposite direction, and after some ordeals you will finally find yourself in the hall with the Black Book.

After reading the book, you will magically learn how to perform the ritual of turning into a lich, and in your backpack there will be a note detailing the ceremony.

Upon returning to the Mound of Disasters, exit the dusty corridor that led you to Apocrypha, to the left and speed you will find the exit from the Mound to the surface.

Ritual

Fast travel to the city, and you will soon be found by a messenger with a note from a certain Provisioner. Don't hesitate to invite her, she's the only one who can set up a ritual room for you in one (or both) of your "necromantic" dwellings, Ravenskorn Tower, and the sewers of Solitude.

Now we have to perform the ritual, but first create the necessary things on the necromantic altar, which is located in the same ritual hall.
